This Advanced Ceramics 6-Week Course will focus on creating portraits in clay. Students will learn to design, construct and display their dynamic - multi faceted sculptures utilizing advanced hand building techniques. Speciality materials and equipment will be provided to help create each unique piece. Students will learn how to load, fire and unload their own artwork in a final glaze firing. This quickly paced course will culminate in a group show of finished pieces in a gallery style setting, with an art opening for students, family and friends!

Please be sure you can attend ALL of the class sessions, as there are no makeup lessons available. All participants are required to attend the following schedule commitments to ensure a successful gallery opening.

• Course dates: June 5th to July 10th, Thursday Evenings 6-8pm

• Final Glaze Firing: Load on July 12th at 6:30pm; unload on July 14th at 6:30pm

• Installation Day: July 17th, 6-8pm

• Gallery Opening: July 19th, 6-8pm

Prerequisite: Please do not purchase this course if you have not participated in an introductory AND intermediate in-person multi-week hand building course. This course will NOT demonstrate introductory or intermediate level techniques like pinching, coiling, working with slabs or glaze techniques. Cancellation Policy: (This all applies even in a COVID related situation so please only purchase a class with us if you are aware that we are unable to make any exceptions to this policy beyond the parameters listed below. This includes the 7 day notification policy in order to be able to reschedule.) All sales are final. Classes or workshops can only be refunded for credit towards another class or workshop given it is done at least one week (7 days) prior to the start date of said class or workshop. Cancelations made within 7 days of the start date are not granted a credit. No exceptions. This also applies to canceled private lessons. Credit must be put towards a class or workshop within 6 months after purchase. After 6 months all credit is forfeited. Please email us with any questions.
